Telemarketing Scam

Over the past year or so residents in Bradford Ontario (and I'm sure more communities elsewhere) have been receiving calls from an unknown company claiming they're from Microsoft or your ISP and notice your computer is running slow and they have the means to fix it for a small fee. This is a SCAM as they prey on people who are unaware that this is next to impossible (without the installation of monitoring software from a trusted source). I strongly suggest you hang up and call a respective computer savvy person either in your friends and family or local business explaining the call to them. 99% of the time its just a random call looking for a victim, sometimes its a virus on your computer which shared your contact information with them without your knowledge. Either way play it safe. Do not try and stay on the phone and challenge them, they have cunning individuals who might be able to sway you into giving up and buying their product and giving them your credit card information. Save yourself the added aggravation of cancelling your credit card and other financial services as you have let them into your computer.
